500 times Andy Murray

Andy Murray broke a new record. The Olympic champion in the Games in London became the first representative of the United Kingdom, which recorded 500 wins at ATP level. This happened after Murray won with 2: 1 sets over Kevin Anderson in the second round of the tournament in Miami in various parts 6:4, 3:6, 6:3.

Murray needed three sets and more than two hours of game to become the 46th player in the history who pass the limit of 500 victories among the professionals in the Open era.

The world No4, who is twice champion of the tournament in Miami, ended the match with two aces and two double faults to his account.

Thanks to the victory Andy Murray reached the quarterfinals in Miami for the sixth time in his career and now leads with 4:1 win over Anderson.

Andy received a colourful cake for his achievement. He thanked, but didn`t cut the cake. The whole cake stayed at the press conference of the Scot.

Murray is the ninth active player passed "elevation 500" - the head is naturally Roger Federer with 1012 victories. Others in this ranking are Rafael Nadal, David Ferrer, Novak Djokovic, Lleyton Hewitt, Tommy Haas, Tomas Berdych and Tommy Robredo.

In contention for a place in the semis Murray will face one of the young talents in the Tour - Dominic Thiem.
